“Among my most memorable accomplishments was establishing the Pokemon League structure for the Video Game Championships, initially connected to official publications. We organized a competition that attracted approximately 400 participants traveling from throughout Brazil to Sao Paulo.
That achievement seemed extraordinary then, but current tournaments regularly host beyond 4,000 competitors,” Araki reflected, illustrating the community’s exponential growth.
Although Araki’s Pokemon involvement spans generations, his recent Pokemon Go leadership has significantly extended the franchise’s regional penetration. Latin America’s inherently competitive culture makes Pokemon Go an ideal platform for player engagement.
“Our analytics confirm Latin America demonstrates exceptional competitive intensity. Regarding Player versus Player functionality utilization, the competitive dimensions show Latin America, particularly Brazil and Mexico, consistently achieve world-leading engagement statistics.
We coordinate over eighty monthly celebrations across sixty-five urban centers, attracting approximately 220,000 monthly participants to these organized events,” Araki disclosed.

Consequently, we’ve intensively developed safe zones for participants, establishing collaborative relationships with various organizations to ensure player security and mobility during gameplay activities,” Araki explained.
